For the youth that surrounds you...

He stood in front of her. Looking at her as if she was the number one girl in his life. In fact those were the very words he said.

"You are the number one girl in my life"

He said that she was the most special girl of his life and that he would always be there for her. That if she ever needed a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen and a friend to be there; just call and he'll be there.

He made a promise that he would never leave her.

He broke it and left her when she needed him the most.

One day, she kept saying to herself, one day she's going to be a writer. A writer that would write inspiring words, that will cause readers of different ages and status to weep, laugh and think about.

"I love to write and that's what I want to do for the rest of my life."

She had dreams that she promised herself she would fulfill. As the years go by, things became harder, but she promised. She was going to be a writer. She was going to achieve her dreams.

She had a dream and she aimed for the stars.

But then she threw it out the window, when she became waitress to provide for her newborn.

He met a nice girl. He gave her the world. He gave her his world. He bought her things and she was always pampered when it came to him. Whatever she needed or wanted, he gave.

"I love her and I know she loves me."

He always talks about her to his friends. How she loves him so much and how he finally found the one who he wants to spend the rest of his life with.

A part of him died when she suddenly upped and left him.

His friends never told him, but they knew it from the start.

They're the perfect family. Parents who seemed so loving and were the envy of every other kid on the block. Everybody wished their dad was as cool as his and their mom could cook as good as his.

"They're the perfect family. Unbreakable and always together."

To the whole world his family was the best and he always got what he wanted. He never lacked anything. He was the only kid on the block who got the bike that everyone else could only lust after.

His parents finally split up.

And he thinks it's his fault.

She was a straight A student. Always excelled in her studies. Not only that, she was beautiful. Her parents were always proud of her and showed her off like a beautiful trophy.

"Look at her. She's not only smart, she's also very beautiful. What a perfect daughter."

They always kept pushing her, to do her best. To always, always be number one. Besides, it was for her own good. She had the ability to be perfect and her parents made sure she would be.

She ran away from home, saying she had enough.

She didn't want to be perfect, she just wanted to love and be loved.

I'm smiling, always laughing. Friendly and talkative, I always make it a point to make a person laugh. Willing to do anything just to crack a smile. I'm always happy. Always.

"Laughter is after all the best medicine."

So I don't show anything else but the laughter in my eyes. I try to be happy for the sake of other people who aren't happy, hence trying to make them happy.

Yet I'm all alone now, not knowing my meaning and purpose.

Would you please just see my tears behind the laughter?

These are the things we go through
Let's take control and be ourselves
Let's not waste time wondering about
How we're gonna make it out

Wake up everyone around you
Let's rock until the clock strike two
Stand up for what you believe and shout to
Here's another song for the youth that surrounds you

Note: This whole entry was inspired from the song Things We Go Through

Lotsa love, Jana
